My name is Dr. Justin Cook and I am a licensed professional counselor and counselor supervisor
for the stat of Missouri. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling from Missouri State University
and my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Arkansas. I provide
counseling for individuals and couples from a humanistic and relationship approach. There are many reasons that people find themselves in need of help. I believe that people have a desire for their lives to be better, but many times are unsure of how to reach those goals. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, other mental health needs, or have experienced trauma in your life reaching out for help is the first step toward a better life. If you need someone to talk to that is empathetic, compassionate, and well educated in a variety of mental health needs, then I can help. I believe in your abilities, your strength, and your goals. I believe that the counseling relationship is just that, a relationship where we work together to help you move to a life where you want to be.

Along with traditional counseling services I also work with individuals, couples, and groups using adventure therapy. Adventure therapy includes experiential methods that often includes natural setting to kinesthetically engage clients in affective, cognitive, and behavioral ways to address goals and concerns of clients. Some methods include hiking, biking, canoeing, climbing, and mindfulness practices. The use of adventure therapy can create new ways of coping, self-esteem, use of metaphor, and somatic experiences that help clients engage in their lives, struggles, and successes in new and different ways. I have worked in team building and leadership training with adults and adolescents since 2001.
